Custom Acrylic Soap Stamp: Frequently Asked Questions
Share
Custom acrylic stamps are UrMark's most popular product — the one the whole brand was founded on. Here are the real questions soap makers, clay artists, and bakers ask before ordering one.
What is a custom acrylic stamp used for?
It's a transparent acrylic stamp used with a separate ink pad, made for crafting, packaging, and branding — most commonly for debossing or inking a logo onto handmade soap, clay, or fondant.
Can I use an acrylic stamp directly on soap without ink?
Yes. Acrylic stamps are commonly pressed directly into soft, freshly cut soap to leave a debossed impression, without needing ink. They can also be used with an ink pad on paper and packaging.
What sizes are available?
3cm, 4cm, 5cm and 6cm — each square. Choose based on your logo shape and the size of what you're stamping; a 3cm mark suits a small soap bar or clay piece, while 6cm works well on larger bars and slabs.
Does the acrylic stamp come with a handle?
Yes, every acrylic stamp comes with a wooden handle for a comfortable, controlled grip.
When should I stamp my soap for the cleanest impression?
Within a few days of cutting, while the bar is still soft enough to take a clean deboss but firm enough to hold its shape.
Can I use the same stamp on soap, clay, and fondant?
Yes. The same acrylic stamp works across all three soft surfaces — handmade soap, clay and pottery, and fondant or cake decoration.
Is an ink pad included with the stamp?
No, the ink pad is sold separately. Most customers deboss directly into soap or clay without ink, and only add an ink pad if they're stamping paper or packaging.
How do I clean an acrylic stamp?
Wipe it gently with a damp cloth or a soft brush after use. Remove any residue immediately to keep future impressions crisp.
Will my acrylic stamp discolour or stain over time?
Acrylic stamps may show some ink staining with repeated use. This is cosmetic and doesn't affect how clean an impression the stamp makes.
Can I order more than one acrylic stamp at a discount?
Yes. We run a buy-2-get-1-free offer on acrylic stamps, and also sell a discounted 3-stamp bundle where you choose the size and design for each one. Current offers are listed on our offers page.
How fine can the detail on my logo be?
Simple designs with bold lines create the cleanest impressions. Very fine details or extremely thin lines may need slight adjustment so the stamp deboss's clearly — we'll always confirm any changes with you before production.
How long does dispatch take for an acrylic stamp?
Typically 2–5 business days after artwork approval. Pre-inked/flash stamps are quickest to make, at around 2 days; other stamps can take a little longer depending on our current workflow, and dispatch only happens on working days (Monday–Friday), which is why the window spans a few days.
Can potters and ceramic artists use this stamp?
Yes. Acrylic stamps are commonly used by potters and clay artists to mark greenware before firing, in the same way they're used to deboss soap.
What should I avoid doing with an acrylic stamp?
Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, excessive heat, and sharp objects, and store it clean, dry, and away from direct sunlight when not in use.
