A solid brass seal head engraved with your design and mounted on a turned wooden handle. Press it into sealing wax for invitations and letters, or into tempered chocolate for bonbons and dessert toppers. Brass is used for this rather than acrylic because it holds temperature — which is what makes the impression release cleanly instead of sticking.

Questions before you order

What can I press a brass seal into?

Sealing wax on invitations, letters and packaging; tempered chocolate on bonbons, truffle tops and bars; and clay. It presses the design in rather than printing it, so it needs a material that is soft when worked and holds its shape afterwards.

How do I stop chocolate sticking to the seal?

Chill the brass head first. Brass holds cold well, and that is the whole trick — chill it, press, lift, and the impression releases clean instead of dragging. Warm brass is what makes chocolate stick.

Do I need to buy sealing wax separately?

Yes. The seal is the tool; the wax is the consumable. That also means you can change wax colours whenever you like without changing the stamp.

Will I see my design before you make it?

Yes. We send you a digital proof and nothing is engraved until you approve it. Check the spelling and spacing carefully, because the seal is cut exactly as approved.

Will fine detail come out clearly in wax?

Wax picks up detail well, but very thin lines and very small text can still fill in. When we review your artwork we will tell you if anything is likely to be a problem and may suggest a slightly larger size or a small adjustment to the design.

What artwork should I send?

The highest resolution file you have, in black on a white background. A photo of your logo is fine to start with — send it and we will tell you whether it will engrave cleanly.

How long does it take and what does shipping cost?

Brass products take about a week to make, counted from the day you approve your proof. Shipping is a flat Rs.69 anywhere in India, free above Rs.1,499. We deliver across India only.
